WHAT IS SPLIT LEATHER?

The second layer of cowhide leather, also called refendu or film leather, is a thick leather from which one layer is machine-cut. This type of leather retains the rest of the first leather layer and, after treatment, gains certain elasticity and plasticity. Split leather also offers a certain level of environmental protection as it fully utilizes cowhide leather resources and reduces waste, while preserving the original characteristics of the leather.
